What Happened/Is Happening?

Unfortunately, the Family Retreat Center (the facility where we have always held all off-ice activities) has just recently informed us that they will not host ANY camps this summer. They have ensured us that this is completely unrelated to the Pittsburgh Christian Hockey camp and hope to be able to host us again in 2018.

Naturally, the work to plan a new location is significant. Not all planning committee members could commit to the time required. However, Hockey Ministries International has graciously stepped in, helping us to find a new location for the overnight camp and providing additional, experienced planning staff from other HMI camps to lead the camp this year.

Unfortunately, we could not find a new location for the Day Camp – and therefore, all registered day campers are receiving an automatic refund of their fee.

More about the Overnight Camp…

Hockey Ministries International will be leading the camp, in a modified format, with lodging and meals at Geneva College (include address and link to website). Geneva College is a Christian college with great facilities and access to field, dorms and a dining hall. The on-ice portion of the camp will still be held at Baierl Ice Complex and offer 3 hours of training daily, including many of the same instructors that have been attending and coaching in the past. The time away from the arena will consist of many of the same activities, including paintball, Fun Fore All, sports, small group discussions and evening chapel. We may also include some new activities like dry land training.

If you are already registered for the overnight camp, we realize that the change in location may cause you inconvenience or concern. If you have questions, we encourage you to call Christy Liesemer from HMI at 514-395-1717 x226 as soon as possible. If you are no longer able to attend camp, please let Christy know BEFORE APRIL 30 and you will be given a full refund. After April 30, the regular refund policy will apply.

Looking forward to 2018…

The “usual” planning committee is already looking for appropriate locations for both the Day and Overnight camps for 2018. Please stay tuned for more details!

Thank you!

Athletic Competitions at PCHC
Fun and Games at Camp
Pro Players Talk About Faith

For 14 years, Pittsburgh volunteers have joined with Hockey Ministries International each summer to host a Pittsburgh hockey camp for up to 140 boys and girls aged 5 to 16, for a week of Christian education, ice hockey and summer camp fun!

Professional and former professional players lead the on-ice activities and share stories from their own Christian experience. The very popular (and ordained) “Pastor Paul” leads our Christian education (non-denominational).

Comfortable Cabins and Great Food

The campers are cared for by a phenomenal group of Christ-centered, compassionate counselors, many of whom are hockey players and former campers themselves.

Dozens of our campers and their siblings return year after year, declaring the Pittsburgh Christian Hockey summer camp to be the “best week of their summer!”  We would love to have you join us!
